Vehicle Proximity Alert System

Problem:

In industrial zones, warehouses, and crowded parking areas, vehicle-pedestrian collisions are a leading cause of injury and fatality. Blind spots, noise, and human error make it difficult for drivers to detect nearby pedestrians or obstacles, especially in low-visibility conditions (e.g., fog, darkness).

– Accident Prevention: Reduces collisions by alerting drivers to nearby pedestrians or objects.

– Cost Savings: Lowers insurance premiums and liability claims for businesses.

– Enhanced Awareness: Provides real-time feedback to drivers and pedestrians.

– Scalability: Can be integrated into forklifts, delivery trucks, or construction equipment.

Solution:

Use HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors and IR sensors to detect proximity of objects/pedestrians around a vehicle. ESP32 processes distance data and triggers buzzers, vibration motors, or OLED alerts when thresholds are breached.

Process:

1. Sensor Network:

– Ultrasonic sensors monitor front/back/sides of the vehicle (up to 4m range).

– IR sensors detect heat signatures of pedestrians in blind spots.

2. Alert System:

– ESP32 activates haptic feedback (vibration motors) and audio alarms (buzzers) for drivers.

– Pedestrians receive warnings via flashing LEDs or sound modules.

3. User Interface:

– OLED screens display distance metrics (e.g., “Obstacle: 1.2m”).
