Scouting Context: Supports forestry, engineering, and conservation merit badges while teaching environmental stewardship and robotics.

Project Overview: Create a small robot platform that helps scouts document trail conditions and identify maintenance needs during hikes.

Components:

  • ESP32 (main controller)
  • TT Motors (for movement)
  • Ultrasonic Sensors (obstacle detection)
  • IR Tracking Sensors (for trail following)
  • MPU-6050 Accelerometer (for slope measurement)
  • OLED Display
  • Photo Resistors (detecting shade/sun exposure)
